To rise the women participation in village panchayat activities module for awareness programmes for women were designed and tested the modules by conducting the programmes successfully.
The sustainability of micro finance in SHGs hinges upon proper book keeping and efficient fund management. Identification of book writers, training them and properly maintaining the accounts are important challenges for SHG promoting agencies. In Bidar District, a common set of printed books have been used to maintain a common accounting system in all the SHGs. DCCB Bidar through SAHARDA had developed the proper module and conducted a Bookkeepers training for volunteers identified by the SHGs.
These are one day awareness programme on Income generation activities/micro enterprises for SHG members. To understand the concepts of micro enterprises and build the awareness on income generating opportunities available in the villages and rural markets a one day awareness programme was designed. As such one day awareness programmes were found very useful in building vision amongst SHG members.
As envisaged under the Revival package of GOI, PACS have to adopt Common Accounting System (CAS) and Management Information System (MIS) . RCS has issued Instructions to DCCBs to advise PACS to start adopting CAS-MIS from the year 2009-10. In this regard, the capacities of the PACS functionaries have to be developed to facilitate smooth migration from the existing accounting system to CAS having universal acceptance. NABARD in collaboration with GTZ, has devised a simplified standard and Common Accounting System for PACS. Further, NABARD has also brought out a hand book on MIS . SAHARDA in collaboration with NABARD conducting this training programmes for the functionaries of PACS and Officers of cooperative department and District level Master Trainers.
SAHARDA-DCC Bank is working together with Akshara Foundation, Bangalore in improving the educational status of children. Under this project SAHARDA conducted training programmes to Balwadi Volunteers to making available pre school access to every child by opening of pre-primary schools in villages for children aged 3 to 5 years. To improve educational status of "in school children" through accelerated reading and mathematic programme in Govt. schools for the students who are not up to the mark in reading the kannada/English text.
